Construction costs up 0.8 per cent

From October to November this year the construction costs of residential buildings increased by 0.8 per cent. The construction cost index increased by 3.9 per cent from November 2004 to November 2005.

The construction costs of multi-dwelling houses rose by 4.4 per cent last year, while detached houses of wood increased by 3.7 per cent. The material costs of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses of wood rose by 3.7 and 2.6 per cent respectively in the same period.

Because of better topicality the wage statistics for the third quarter 2005 are included in the construction cost index of November instead of December.
