Slight changes in construction costs

From March to April 2005 the construction costs of residential buildings increased by 0.1 per cent, while the material costs rose by 0.2 per cent. The construction cost index increased by 3.5 per cent from April 2004 to April 2005.

The construction costs of multi-dwelling houses rose by 4.1 per cent last year, while detached houses of wood increased by 3.3 per cent. The material costs of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses of wood rose by 6.5 and 4.0 per cent respectively in the same period.
