Construction costs unchanged

The index of residential buildings remained unchanged in November compared with October 2002.

The construction costs of residential buildings rose by 3.3 per cent in November 2002 compared with November 2001. Labour costs and material costs increased by 5.0 and 2.2 per cent respectively, in the same period.

The construction costs of multi-dwelling houses rose by 3.7 per cent last year, while detached houses of wood increased by 3.3 per cent. Material costs of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses of wood increased by 2.5 and 2.1 per cent respectively, in the same period.
