Construction costs rose by 0.3 per cent

The index of residential buildings increased by 0.3 per cent in June compared with May this year, while material costs registered no change in the same period.

The index of painting, paperhanging and floor coating increased the most, with 0.5 per cent for both detached houses and multi-dwelling houses in June compared with May this year.

The construction costs of residential buildings rose by 5.1 per cent in June 2001 compared with June 2000. Material cost increased by 4.6 per cent in the same period.
