Construction costs rose for plumbing work

The construction costs of material index for plumbing work rose by 1.4 per cent for detached houses and 1.6 per cent for multi-dwelling houses. The index for plumbing work for detached houses and multi-dwelling houses rose by 0.9 and 1.1 per cent respectively.

Over the course of the past month the index of residential buildings increased by 0.3 per cent in March compared with February this year. Material costs rose by 0.4 per cent in the same period.

The construction costs of residential buildings rose by 5.4 per cent in March 2001 compared with March 2000. Material cost increased by 5.2 per cent in this period.
