Construction cost index for road construction, 15 February 2010

From the fourth quarter of 2009 to the first quarter of 2010 the construction costs of rock tunnel increased the most, by 1.1 per cent. The costs of open air road and concrete bridges rose by 0.9 and 0.4 per cent respectively.

From the first quarter of 2009 to the first quarter of 2010 the construction costs of open air road increased the most, by 4.1 per cent. The costs of rock tunnel rose by 2.2 per cent, while the costs of concrete bridges decreased by 0.8 per cent.

The maintenance costs of roads increased by 0.9 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2009 to the first quarter of 2010, and are 4.6 per cent higher than in the first quarter of 2009.
