Construction cost index for road construction, 15 August 2012

The construction costs of concrete bridges increased by 0.7 per cent this quarter. The costs of rock tunnels and open air roads rose by 0.4 and 0.3 per cent respectively.

From the third quarter of 2011 to the third quarter of 2012, the construction costs of open air roads, concrete bridges and rock tunnels rose by 2.7, 2.0 and 1.4 per cent respectively.

The maintenance costs of roads decreased by 0.2 per cent from the second to the third quarter of 2012, and are 2.4 per cent higher than in the third quarter of 2011.
