Construction cost index for road construction, 15 February 2011

The construction costs of open air roads increased by 3 per cent, while the costs of rock tunnels and concrete bridges rose by 2.4 and 2.3 per cent respectively.

From the first quarter of 2010 to the first quarter of 2011 the construction cost of concrete bridges, open air roads and rock tunnels increased by 6.8, 5.7 and 5.1 per cent respectively.

The maintenance costs of roads increased by 3 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2010 to the first quarter of 2011, and are 6.6 per cent higher than in the first quarter of 2010.
