Increase in government revenue

The central government’s fiscal account had a surplus of NOK 143.3 billion in the second quarter of 2011.

Government revenue totalled NOK 390 billion in the second quarter of 2011. This is NOK 37.6 billion more than in the second quarter last year. Total transfers to the central government account for most of the revenue, with a sum of NOK 347.9 billion in the second quarter.

Total expenditure has also increased, from NOK 231 billion in the second quarter of 2010 to NOK 246.7 billion in the second quarter of 2011. Transfers from the central government account for most of the total expenditure, with a sum of NOK 203.5 billion. The largest component of these transfers, pensions and benefits through the National Insurance Scheme, total NOK 82.3 billion.
