Increase in central government revenue

Central government revenues for the third quarter of 2008 amount to NOK 223 billion. This is an increase of NOK 70 billion compared with the third quarter of 2007. The increase in revenues is largely explained by increased tax revenues related to petroleum activity.

Of the total increase in revenue of NOK 70.5 billion, NOK 48.2 billon is from tax payments related to petroleum activity. The total expenditure in the third quarter of 2008 amounts to NOK 182 billion; an increase of 14.8% per cent compared to the third quarter of 2007. The surplus before net transfers to the Government Pension Fund - Global is NOK 40.5 billion.

Net transfers to the Government Pension Fund - Global is NOK 115.4 billion.
