Increase in both revenue and expenditure

In the third quarter 2007, Central government fiscal account including National Insurance Scheme, shows total revenue and expenditure of NOK 152 and NOK 158 billion respectively. Compared to the third quarter of 2006, both revenue and expenditure have increased.

Central government fiscal account revenue, including National Insurance Scheme, increased by NOK 8.2 billion compared to third quarter of 2006. Among the largest contributions to the increase are interests and dividends, other tax revenues and payments to National insurance scheme.

Total expenditure for the Central government fiscal account including the National Insurance scheme increased by NOK 9.8 billion compared with the third quarter of 2006. Contributions to the raise in expenditure, among other factors, are pension payments and social affairs excluding National insurance scheme.

Net transfers to the Government Pension Fund - Global are NOK 67.8 billion. This is NOK 12 billion lower than 3.quarter of 2006.
