Increase in revenues

Central government revenues totalled NOK 860.8 billion in 2005. This is an increase of 15.3 per cent compared with 2004. Total expenditures amounted to NOK 650.1 billion in 2005, an increase of 4.5 per cent compared with 2004.

The central government surplus before net transfers to the Government Petroleum Fund was NOK 210.8 billion. This is an increase of NOK 86.6 billion compared with 2004.

In 2005, total expenditures in the fiscal account excluding the National Insurance Scheme amounted to NOK 414.6 billion. The National Insurance Scheme's total expenditures amounted to NOK 235.5 billion. Compared with 2004, these represent increases of 5.8 and 2.2 per cent respectively.

The Ministry of Finance published the Central government fiscal account including the National Insurance Scheme 2005 on 28 April 2006. Statistics Norway presents the main features of the Central government fiscal account on a yearly and quarterly basis.
