Increased government revenue

In first quarter 2001, the Central government fiscal account including the National Insurance Scheme, shows an increase in total revenues of approximately 10 billion kroner. In the first quarter 2001 government revenues were 137 billion, compared with 127 billion first quarter 2000.

The operating surplus from the state-owned petroleum activities was about 26 billion kroner, compared with 22 billion in the corresponding quarter 2000. Total transfers increased by 6.3 billion kroner from the 1 quarter 2000 to 104.2 billion kroner in the 1 quarter 2001. The tax revenue contributed to the biggest rise of approximately 6 billion kroner.
