Stronger decline in petroleum taxes

Total tax payments on the extraction of petroleum were NOK 16.7 billion in August 2015. This is lower than in any comparable months covered by these statistics.

Payments of petroleum taxes in August 2015 were about 40 per cent lower than in August 2014. The decrease is stronger than in the first seven months of this year. From January through July, petroleum tax payments had decreased by 26 per cent from the corresponding period of 2014. Petroleum taxes account for most of the taxes paid in August.

So far this year, a total of NOK 546 billion has been paid in taxes in Norway. This is NOK 26 billion less than in the corresponding period of 2014. Total petroleum tax payments from January through August have decreased by NOK 35 billion, or 29 per cent, and other taxes have increased by NOK 9 billion, or 2 per cent compared to the first eight months of 2014.

Taxes on dividends to foreign shareholders adjustedOpen and readClose

From January 2015, the sum of taxes on dividends to foreign shareholders is adjusted to account for repayments to shareholders exempted from this tax. So far this year, the sum of repayments is about NOK 1.1 billion.
