Decrease in oil taxes

From January to June, a total of NOK 439 billion was paid in taxes in Norway. This is a decrease of NOK 20 billion from the corresponding period of last year. The decrease is mainly due to lower payments on petroleum taxes.

Taxes on the extraction of petroleum account for about 80 per cent of taxes paid in June. NOK 9 billion was paid in ordinary oil tax and NOK 15 billion was paid in special taxes on the extraction of petroleum. This is a decrease of NOK 3 billion and NOK 4 billion, respectively, from June 2014. The total sum of petroleum taxes paid in the first half of 2015 is NOK 69 billion. This sum is NOK 25 billion lower than in the first half of last year. Tax equalization contributions to the central government from non-personal taxpayers have also decreased, by NOK 7 billion from the first half of 2014.

Payments through the advance tax arrangement have increased by NOK 12 billion in the same period. The total sum of payments trough both arrangements has decreased by NOK 20 billion, or 4.3 per cent from the first half of 2014 to the first half of 2015.

Taxes on dividends to foreign shareholders adjustedOpen and readClose

From January 2015, the sum of taxes on dividends to foreign shareholders is adjusted to account for repayments to shareholders exempted from this tax. So far this year, the sum of repayments is about NOK 783 million.
