Increased tax payments in January

A total of NOK 85.3 billion was paid in taxes in Norway in January. This is NOK 2.6 billion more than in January 2014.

The advance tax arrangement accounts for most of the taxes paid in January, with a total of NOK 83.8 billion. NOK 43.1 billion of this sum was made up of payments to the National Insurance Scheme (NIS), NOK 17.5 billion was tax equalization contributions to the central government and NOK 16.3 billion was taxes to the municipalities. Taxes to county authorities and other taxes to the central government account for about NOK 3.5 billion each. Taxes paid through the advance tax arrangement are NOK 2.4 billion, or 2.9 per cent, higher than in January 2014.

The non-personal taxpaying arrangement, including petroleum taxes, accounted for NOK 1.5 billion in January. This is an increase of NOK 0.3 billion from January last year.

Taxes on dividends to foreign shareholders adjustedOpen and readClose

From January 2015, the sum of taxes on dividends to foreign shareholders is adjusted to account for repayments to shareholders exempted from this tax. In January 2015, the sum of repayments was about NOK 30 million.
