Figure 1. Paid and distributed taxes by county authority. January-November accumulated. Change in per cent

As in previous months this year, the tax payments in Norway have decreased compared to last year. The main reason for the decline is reduced tax payments on the extraction of petroleum, which gives a negative effect on the total tax payments.

Increased payments through the advance tax arrangement

The payments through the advance tax arrangement so far this year have increased by 2.4 per cent compared to last year. In total, the payments through the advance tax arrangement were NOK 591.4 billion, which is NOK 14.1 billion more than the corresponding period in 2013. The non-personal taxpaying arrangement, excluding petroleum taxes, have contributed NOK 73.4 billion in taxes so far in 2014, which is 2.6 per cent less than the same period last year.

More tax payments to the local government

From January to November this year, the tax payments to the local government totalled NOK 155.5 billion; an increase of 2.1 per cent from last year. Out of the total, NOK 128 billion was paid to the municipalities, while NOK 27.5 billion went to the counties. The central government received NOK 234.4 billion in tax payments, which is a decrease of 2.3 per cent from last year.
