Moderate increase in tax payments

Total tax payments so far this year amounted to NOK 836.3 billion. This is a moderate increase of only 3.4 per cent or NOK 27.6 billion compared to the same period last year.

Payments in the month of November amounted to NOK 117.9 billion, and so far this year, this is the highest payment. The biggest contributor to tax payments in November was payments from the advance tax arrangement, including the National Insurance Scheme. Through the advance tax arrangement, Norway has received NOK 577.3 billion from January to November. This is an increase of 6.4 per cent or NOK 34.7 billion.

Increase in tax payments to central government

NOK 239.9 billion in taxes has been paid to the central government. This is an increase of 4.6 per cent or NOK 10.5 billion. Tax equalisation contributions account for NOK 209 billion of the total sum of taxes to the central government.

5.7 per cent increase in payments to local authorities and county authorities

Tax payments to local authorities and county authorities so far in 2013 have increased by 5.7 per cent or NOK 8.3 billion, to NOK 152.4 billion from last year. Of tax payments to the county authorities and local authorities, the local authorities receive the most, with NOK 125.6 billion. Payments to both the county and local authorities have increased by 5.7 per cent.

Increase of 7.2 per cent to the National Insurance Scheme

A total of NOK 258.2 billion has been received by the National Insurance Scheme up to the end of November, which is an increase of 7.2 per cent. So far this year, NOK 110 billion has been paid by member contributions to the National Insurance Scheme, while NOK 148.2 billion has been paid by employer contributions. This gives an increase of 7.3 per cent and 7.1 per cent from last year respectively.
