Level of tax payments stable

By the end of November 2010, a total of NOK 670 billion was paid in taxes. This is slightly higher than last year, when the payments amounted to NOK 669 billion by the end of November. Payments in November 2010 were almost equal to those of November 2009.

Advance tax payments for the term September-October were due in November. These payments concern personal taxes on wages, and employer contributions to the National insurance scheme. Total advance payments this month were about NOK 85 billion. This is an increase of NOK 4.5 billion or 5.5 per cent from the same month last year.

Total payments to the National Insurance Scheme have increased by 1.6 per cent, or NOK 3.4 billion, this year. These payments consist of two components. By the end of November, a total of NOK 122 billion was paid as employers contributions and NOK 89 billion was paid as member contributions. The two components have grown at an almost equal rate this year.

Tax payments to the benefit of municipalities and county municipalities have increased by 7 per cent in the first 11 months of this year. Payments total NOK 114 billion to the municipalities and 22 billion to the county municipalities. This represents a growth of 6.9 per cent for municipalities and 7.2 per cent for county municipalities.
