Moderate decline in total tax income

In the period from January to November 2009 total tax payments amounted to NOK 669.5 billion. This is a reduction of NOK 34 billion or 4.8 per cent compared to the same period last year.

The decline is mainly due to a reduction of NOK 48.7 billion or 24.5 per cent in petroleum taxes. Tax payments excluding petroleum taxes totalled NOK 519.3 billion, which is an increase of 2.9 per cent or 14.7 billion.

NOK 106.8 billion to municipalities

Total tax paid to municipalities increased by NOK 6 billion or 6 per cent, and amounted to NOK 106.8 billion. Tax paid to county municipalities totalled NOK 20.7 billion. This is an increase of slightly more than NOK 400 million or 2.1 per cent compared to 2008.

Employer contributions and member contributions to the National Insurance Scheme amounted to NOK 120.2 and NOK 88.1 billion respectively. This corresponds to an increase of 5 and 7.9 per cent respectively.
