Slight reduction in tax income

From January to September 2009, total tax revenue amounted to NOK 554.5 billion. This is a slight reduction of 0.4 per cent or NOK 2 billion compared to the same period last year.

Paid and distributed taxes, by county. Change in per cent, January-September, 2007-2008 and 2008-2009

The reduction is due to a decrease of 15.6 per cent or NOK 23 billion in tax payments to the continental shelf. From 2008 to 2009, tax revenue excluding the continental shelf grew by 5.1 per cent, or NOK 21 billion, to NOK 430.6 billion.

Ordinary taxes to municipalities totalled NOK 89.2 billion. This is an increase of 9.4 per cent or NOK 7.7 billion. Ordinary taxes to county municipalities increased by 4.7 per cent or almost NOK 800 million, to a total of NOK 17.5 billion.

Employer contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totalled NOK 101.1 billion, while member contributions stood at NOK 70.1 billion. There was an increase of NOK 5.9 billion in both cases, meaning an increase of 6.2 per cent and 9.2 per cent respectively.
