Tax revenue up in January

In January total tax revenue amounted to NOK 64.7 billion. This corresponds to an increase of NOK 6.9 billion or 12 per cent compared to January 2008.

Paid and distributed taxes by county. Change in per cent. January 2007-2008 and 2008-2009

Tax payment to local government totalled NOK 15.9 billion, an increase of NOK 1.3 billion or 8.9 per cent. Tax revenue to municipalities increased by NOK 1.1 billion or 8.9 per cent to NOK 13.2 billion. Total tax payments to county municipalities constituted NOK 2.7 billion, an increase of NOK 218 million or 8.8 per cent.

Total tax payments to the National insurance scheme amounted to NOK 32.4 billion, a growth of NOK 3.6 billion or 12.6 per cent. NOK 21.7 billion of this amount was employer contributions and NOK 10.7 billion was member contributions. Compared to January 2008 this is an increase of 12.0 and 13.8 per cent respectively.
