Tax revenue up 11 per cent

From January-July 2007, total distributed taxes amounted to NOK 391 billion. This is an increase of NOK 39 billion, or 11.0 per cent, compared with the corresponding period in 2006.

Paid and distributed taxes by county. Change in per cent, January to July, 2005-2006 and 2006-2007

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 72.5 billion, an increase of 4 per cent, compared with the same period in 2006. Total tax paid to central government, excluding National Insurance Scheme, amounted to approximately NOK 203.6 billion. This is NOK 28 billion, or 15.9 per cent, higher compared with the same period in 2006.

Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme rose by 7.5 per cent from the corresponding period in 2006 and totalled NOK 115.1 billion.

The large increase in non-personal taxpaying arrangement is mainly due to new regulations. Tax payments for this group (excl. petroleum taxes) are now made twice a year, while the payment earlier was three times a year.
