Increased tax payments in first half 2007

Distributed taxes amounted to NOK 336 billion in the first six months of 2007. This is an increase of NOK 34 billion, or 11.4 per cent, compared with the first half 2006.

Paid and distributed taxes by county. Change in per cent, January to June, 2005-2006 and 2006-2007

Total tax paid to local government came to NOK 59.1 billion. This is an increase of 4.3 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2006. Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totalled NOK 87.9 billion, an increase of 7.1 per cent.

Tax on income from extraction of petroleum for the first six months of the year amounted to NOK 95.3 billion. The greater part of this was paid in April.

The large increase in non-personal taxpaying arrangement is mainly due to new regulations. Tax payments for this group (excl. petroleum taxes) are now made twice a year, while the payment earlier was three times a year.
