Tax payments up 17 per cent

From January to November 2005, distributed taxes totalled NOK 546 billion, an increase of NOK 79 billion, or 17 per cent, compared with the same period last year.

More taxes from the extraction of petroleum contributed to the increase in total tax payments. From January to November 2005, petroleum taxes amounted to NOK 165.4 billion. This is an increase of 48.3 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2004.

Tax payments, excluding petroleum taxes, increaseed by 7.1 per cent.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 100.8 billion, an increase of 5.4 per cent, or NOK 5.2 billion, compared with the corresponding period in 2004. Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totalled NOK 151.9 billion. This is an increase of 5.2 per cent compared with the same period last year.
