Tax revenues up 4.1 per cent

From January to September 2004 paid and distributed taxes totalled NOK 334.3 billion, an increase of NOK 13.3 billion, or 4.1 per cent, compared with the same period last year.

Oil taxes paid in September 2004 are not included in the figures, but oil taxes are paid mainly in April and October. In September 2002 and 2003 the amount that was paid in was NOK 0.3 and 0.2 billion respectively.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 77.6 billion from January to September 2004, an increase of 3.6 per cent compared with 2003. Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totalled NOK 118,0 billion, an increase of 4.3 per cent.

The municipalities in Troms County seen as one had the largest increase in tax income, 7.5 per cent compared with the same period last year. Hordaland had a decrease of 0.9 per cent compared with 2003.
