Tax revenues up 4.3 per cent

From January to July 2004 distributed taxes totalled NOK 279 billion. This is an increase of NOK 11 billion, or 4.3 per cent, compared with the same period last year.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 60.6 billion in the first half of 2004, an increase of 4.1 per cent compared with the first half of last year. National insurance contributions totalled NOK 94.5 billion, an increase of 4.3 per cent. Petroleum taxes amounted to NOK 50.0 billion from January to July 2004, an increase of 7.4 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2003. Tax payments, excluding petroleum taxes, increased by 3.7 per cent.

Every county except Hordaland experienced an increase in distributed taxes compared with the same period last year. The municipalities of Troms County had the largest increase in tax income, 7.7 per cent compared the same period last year.
