Tax payments up 5.5 per cent

From January to March 2003 distributed taxes amounted NOK 107.2 billion. This is an increase of NOK 5.6 billion, or 5.5 per cent, compared with the same period in 2002.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 27.6 billion, a decrease of 0.5 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2002. Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totalled NOK 44.9 billion, an increase of 7.8 per cent.

Each county has had an increase in distributed taxes compared with last year. Akershus has the largest increase: 11.3 per cent.
