Increased tax payments

From January to September, distributed taxes amounted nearly NOK 306 billion. It is an increase of 60 billion, or 24.5 per cent, compared with the same period last year. Taxes on extraction of petroleum are the largest contributor to the growth in distributed taxes.

In the period from January to September, taxes on petroleum reached NOK 47 billion. This is a large increase compared with the same period last year, when the contribution of petroleum taxes was NOK 13 billion.

Total tax income, excluding taxes on extraction of petroleum, indicates an increase of 11.5 per cent compared with the same period last year. A reason for the rise is increased payment in non-personal taxpaying arrangement and a general rise in wages and employment.

Total taxes paid to local government from January to September this year is approximately NOK 83 billion. It is a rise of 16.3 per cent compared with the same period last year. The increase in the income tax is due to increased tax rate to the municipalities, against an equivalent reduction in tax equalization tax.

Each county has an increase in tax income compared with the same period previous year. Oslo has the largest rise in tax income, 15.5 per cent. Finnmark has the lowest of 6.7 per cent.
