NOK 23.9 billion in turnover

Preliminary figures show that enterprises within water supply, sewerage and waste had a total turnover of NOK 23.9 billion in 2015, which corresponds to an increase of 6.2 per cent compared to final figures for 2014.

Waste activities and materials recovery was still the largest industry, and its turnover of NOK 22 billion made up 92.2 per cent of the total turnover.

Turnover within waste activities and materials recovery consists of NOK 10.7 billion from waste collection, NOK 9.3 billion from materials recovery and NOK 2 billion from waste treatment and disposal.

Highest employment in waste activities and materials recovery

The number of persons employed within water supply, sewerage and waste in 2015 was 8 819. Of these, 4 692 worked with waste collection, 2 166 with materials recovery and 702 with waste treatment and disposal.
