NOK 9.8 billion on environmental protection in 2010

The total expenditures on environmental protection in oil and gas extraction, mining and industry were NOK 9.8 billion in 2010. This is an increase of 19 per cent compared to 2009, and the environmental expenditures are therefore back to the same level as in 2008.

Current environmental expenditure totalled NOK 5.5 billion in 2010, and environmental investments reached NOK 4.2 billion, compared to NOK 4.5 and 3.7 billion respectively in 2009. The ratio of environmental current expenditures versus investments is therefore approximately the same.
