Increased turnover for sewage and sanitation industry

The turnover in sewage and refuse disposal, sanitation and similar activities was NOK 5 billion in the first half of 2005. This is an increase of 9 per cent compared with the same period in 2004.

In May and June this year, the turnover within sewage and refuse disposal was NOK 1.7 billion. This is an increase of 11 per cent compared with the same period in 2004.

Businesses dealing with the collection and treatment of sewage saw turnover increase by 10 per cent in the first half of 2005. The increase was 15 per cent in May and June.

Businesses dealing with the collection and treatment of other waste saw turnover increase by 9 per cent in the first half of 2005, while the increase in turnover was 11 per cent in May and June.

Within sanitation, remediation and similar activities the increase in turnover was 1 per cent in the first half of 2005. In May and June this year, the increase was 4 per cent. All the figures are based on comparisons with the corresponding period in 2004.
