Growth in the sewage and sanitation industry

The total turnover increased by 6 per cent for the sewage disposal and sanitation industry in 2001. This is somewhat lower than previous years. The total turnover in 2001 was NOK 5.5 billion. This represents an increase of NOK 335 million since 2000.

The figures for the 5t h period show an 8 per cent increase from 2000 to 2001. The corresponding figures for the 6t h period show a 2 per cent decrease from 2000 to 2001. The total turnover was NOK 1012 million in the 5t h period in 2001. This represents an increase of NOK 71 million from the same period in 2000. Turnover in the 6t h period decreased by NOK 14 million from 897 million in 2000.

Changes in the data source

The statistics are based on information that is affected by VAT-legislation. The Norwegian Tax Administration and the local tax administrations have collected this information. Previously, this information only included turnover affected by VAT-legislation. From the 1s t period in 2001, the turnover figures are based on information both affected by VAT-legislation and information that is not. Because of this, the figures from the1s t period in 2001 and onwards are not comparable with previous periods.
