High household saving

According to preliminary national accounts figures for 2003, households and non-profit institutions serving households (NPISH) had total savings of NOK 79 billion, or NOK 13.4 billion more than in 2002.

Revised 2003 savings figures show that the household sector's savings ratio is 10.1 per cent. This is the highest observed savings ratio in the period 1978-2003. Net lending in the household sector was NOK 54.2 billion in 2003, compared with NOK 38.9 billion in 2002.

The figures for 2002 and 2003 have been revised.
