Only small revisions in GDP-growth

Final annual national accounts numbers for 2005 confirm the growth in GDP of 2.7 per cent, as published earlier. The revision of preliminary GDP growth for 2006 shows a growth of 2.2 per cent, which is 0.4 per cent point lower then previously calculated.

Final annual national accounts numbers for 2005 also show that the growth in GDP for Mainland Norway increased by 4.6 per cent from the year before. Compared with last published numbers, this is a revision of 0.1 percentage point up. From 2005 to 2006, the revised preliminary national account shows a growth of 4.3 per cent, against 4.6 which was published earlier. In 2005 and 2006, the service industries generated more than half of the growth in GDP Mainland Norway. The revised numbers also show that manufacturing industries contributed positively to the growth, with a growth of 4.5 per cent in 2005 and 4.4 per cent in 2006. This is an upward revision of 0.9 percentage point for 2005 and 0.5 percentage point for 2006.
