NOK 1 790 per capita for cultural purposes

Net operating expenditure for cultural purposes in Norwegian municipalities was on average NOK 1 790 per capita in 2011. This represents an increase of 3 per cent since 2010.

The annual KOSTRA figures include expenditures for cultural purposes both in the county municipalities and the municipalities. Both regional levels have an increase in net expenditure for cultural purposes since 2010. However the percentage of total net expenditure had a slight decline.

County municipalities’ net operating expenditure for cultural purposes was NOK 1.2 billion in 2011 and represents 1.6 per cent of total net expenditure. The municipalities’ net expenditure for cultural purposes was NOK 8.9 billion and represents 3.9 per cent of total expenditure in the municipalities.
