Decrease in production of poultry

A total of 154 000 tonnes of meat from domestic animals were approved for human consumption during 1st half year 2015, a decrease of 7 000 tonnes from the same period last year. The decline for poultry alone was 8 300 tonnes.

Compared with the first half of 2014, the production of meat from poultry decreased by 8 300 tonnes, while the production of meat from cattle decreased by 600 tonnes. The production of meat from pig, however, increased by 2 000 tonnes in the same period.

All together 65 700 tonnes of pork, 46 200 tonnes of poultry, 38 300 tonnes of beef and veal and 3 500 tonnes of mutton and lamb were approved 1st half year 2015.
