Stable timber cuts and higher prices

A total of 2.6 million cubic metres of timber were cut for sale in the second quarter of 2014; an increase of 2 per cent from the corresponding quarter in 2013. In the same period, the average price per cubic metre of timber increased by 14 per cent.

The aggregated gross value of roundwood sold to the manufacturing industry was NOK 905 million in the second quarter of 2014; an increase of 17 per cent compared with the corresponding quarter in 2013. On average, the forest owners obtained NOK 345 per cubic metre of timber; an increase of NOK 42.
