Increase in pulpwood price

The average price per cubic metre of pulpwood increased by NOK 58 from the second quarter of 2010 to the second quarter of 2011. The forest owners obtained NOK 365 per cubic metre of timber; an increase of NOK 21.

The aggregated gross value of roundwood sold to the manufacturing industry was NOK 807 million in the second quarter of 2011; an increase of 11 per cent compared with the corresponding quarter in 2010. The average price of saw logs decreased by NOK 10.

Roundwood removals increased slightly

A total of 2.2 million cubic metres of timber were cut for sale in the second quarter of 2011. This is an increase of 4 per cent from the corresponding quarter of 2010. The roundwood removals increased by 90 000 cubic metres compared with the second quarter of 2010.
