Increase in roundwood sales and prices

1.8 million cubic metres of timber were cut for sale in the third quarter of 2007, 8 per cent more than in the corresponding quarter of 2006. The average price rose by NOK 67 per cubic metre.

For the country as a whole, commercial roundwood removals increased by 137 000 cubic metre in the second quarter of 2007 compared with the second quarter of 2006. Hedmark had the highest increase with 88 000 cubic metres, or 19 per cent.

According to preliminary calculations, the forest owners obtained a price of NOK 373 on average per cubic metre sold, NOK 67 higher than in the third quarter of 2006.
