Increase in roundwood sales

In 2010, more timber was cut for sale than in the past 15 years. A total of 8.3 million cubic metres of timber was sold; an increase of 25 per cent from the previous year.

Average price per cubic metre industrial roundwood for sale. 1980/81-2010. NOK current prices and NOK 1980 price value

The marked increase from 2009 is a result of low activity that year as a consequence of the international financial crisis. In 2010, the average price of timber cut for sale amounted to NOK 355 per cubic metre. In comparison, the average price was NOK 307 in 2009.

Most spruce

In 2010, spruce amounted to three quarters of the total removals and pine to one quarter. Broad leaved came to less than 1 per cent.

Gross value increased

The aggregated gross value of roundwood sold to the manufacturing industry in 2010 amounted to almost NOK 3 billion. In 2009, the corresponding figure was NOK 2 billion.

Final figures at municipality level are published in Statbank .
