Total production of wheat, barley and oats. Tonnes

Yield per decare. 1989, 1999 - 2005*. Kg

Including all grain crops, average grain yield per decare was calculated to 410 kilos in 2005, compared with 440 kilos in 2004. A total of 386 400 tonnes of wheat, 591 600 tonnes of barley and 298 200 tonnes of oats were harvested in 2005.

Average decare yield of wheat for the entire country was calculated to 482 kilos in 2005, almost the same as the year before. The average decare yield of barley was 368 kilos, about 50 kilos less than in 2004. For oats, the average decare yield declined by 15 kilos to 408 kilos.

The number of holdings growing grain has been reduced from 33 100 in 1989 to 16 200 in 2005. In the same period, the average grain area per holding increased from 107 decares to 202 decares.
