Decline in production of fodder crops

The total production of meadows for mowing in 2005 was about 2.66 million tonnes, converted by dry matter into hay. This is 5 per cent less than the year before, and corresponds to a yield of 607 kilos of hay per decare.

Yield from meadows for mowing. 2000-2005*

Total yield of green fodder and silage 2005 was 280 400 tonnes in 2005. The yield of potatoes was 317 000 tonnes, corresponding to a per decare yield of 2 300 kilos.
