Fewer people paid wealth tax

Wealth tax was assessed for 896 000 persons in 2008. This is a decrease of 200 000 from the previous year. Total assessed wealth tax amounted to NOK 11.6 billion, which is about the same amount as the previous year.

"Tax statistics for personal taxpayers, tax settlement" was previously a separate publication, but is now part of Tax statistics for personal taxpayers. Income and wealth .

The number of people with wealth tax has fallen from previous years. This is because the tax free amount for wealth tax has increased. The tax free amount for wealth tax increased from NOK 220 000 in 2007 to 350 000 in 2008.
