Stable number of beds
At the end of 2003 there were approximately 14 250 beds in somatic hospitals. On national level this is a marginal growth from 2002. Some hospitals and health enterprises have gone through more extensive changes. This is related to the Norwegian hospital reform introduced in January 2002, which has led to further reorganisation through 2003.
