Decline in manufacturing

According to the seasonally adjusted figures, the manufacturing output has decreased during the second quarter by 1.5 per cent compared with the first quarter. The capital goods output has decreased considerably. Meanwhile the intermediate goods output has increased.

The 4,7 per cent reduction in capital goods output is related to lower activities in second quarter, within the production of Oil platforms and modules - 6.5 per cent, and within the production of transport equipment - 6.0 per cent, compared wit the first quarter. As with the output in machinery and equipments n.e.c. the output in fabricated metal products has decreased.

Increase in intermediate goods output

The 10.3 per cent increase in the basic chemicals output and the 0.9 per cent increase in the basic metal output have resulted in an increase of the intermediate goods output by about 1 per cent. Wood and wood products has experienced a negative growth.

Consumer goods output still decreases

The output in the consumer goods in total has experienced a decline by 0.9 per cent during the second quarter compared with the previous quarter. The (2.1%) reduction in the publishing, printing and reproduction output together with the (1.5%) reduction in the furniture, other manufacturing and recycling has contributed to this decrease.
