Slight decrease in manufacturing

According to seasonally adjusted figures, the manufacturing output has decreased by 0.3 per cent from October to November 2001. The intermediate, the capital and the consumer goods output have had a slight decrease.

Changes in the food products have affected the manufacturing output the last months. This is partly related to changes in the processing and preserving of fish and fish products - which have seen a decreased output from October to November. Basic chemicals and basic metals have affected the intermediate goods output.

Manufacturing output the last 12 months

According to weekly adjusted figures the production in manufacturing declined by 0.6 per cent from November 2000 to November 2001. This was partly related to a drop in the intermediate goods output due to a decline in the pulp, paper and paper products and basic chemicals output. The capital goods output has increased by 1.9 per cent. Oil platforms and machinery and equipment have had an increased output.
