Decreased sales of petroleum products

In the first nine months of 2012, total sales of petroleum products amounted to 7 billion litres. This is a decrease of 1.7 per cent compared to the same period in 2011. The growth in sales of auto diesel continues. Sales of auto diesel were over twice the amount of sales of motor gasoline.

Figures for the first nine months this year indicate an increase in sales of auto diesel by 3 per cent. Sales ended at 2.6 billion litres; 77 million litres more than last year. Sales of auto diesel made up 37 per cent of total sales of petroleum products. Sales of motor gasoline amounted to 1 billion litres; a decrease of 6.5 per cent or 75 million litres. Sales of motor gasoline made up 15 per cent of the total sales of petroleum products.

Light heating oils and heating and lighting kerosene sales decreased by 26.2 per cent from January to September this year, and total sales amounted to 258 million litres. Sales of marine gas oil and diesel had an increase of 3.8 per cent and ended at 1.4 billion litres. Sales of jet fuel amounted to 742 million litres; 2.5 per cent more than the same period last year.

In September this year, total sales of petroleum products ended at 831 million litres; a small decrease of 1.9 per cent compared to September 2011. Sales of auto diesel amounted to 305 million litres; a 2.3 per cent increase. Sales of motor gasoline decreased in the same period by 6.2 per cent and total sales ended at 114 million litres.

There were 20 delivery days in September 2012, compared to 22 in September 2011.
