Increased sales and higher prices

Total sales of petroleum products ended at 872 million litres in November, which is a 12.8 per cent increase compared to November 2009. Sales of auto diesel grew 20.9 per cent.

Total sales of auto diesel amounted to 321 million litres in November, which is 55 million litres more than in November last year. Simultaneously, the prices for auto diesel peaked; in November the average price for one litre of auto diesel was NOK 12.14. This is 9.8 per cent more than in November 2009. Sales of auto diesel contributed to 37 per cent of the total sales of petroleum products.

Sales of motor gasoline decreased and ended at 122 million litres; 4.1 per cent less than in November 2009. The prices rose for motor gasoline and on average cost NOK 13.13 for unleaded 98 octane and NOK 12.76 for unleaded 95 octane; an increase of 4.1 and 5.2 per cent respectably. Sales of motor gasoline made up approximately 14 per cent of the total sales of petroleum products.

Increased sales of heating products

Sales of heating and lighting kerosene and light heating oils amounted to 62 million litres, which is 20 million litres more than November last year and a 48 per cent increase. Low temperatures in November combined with high electricity prises are contributing factors to this development. One litre of light heating oils cost NOK 8.42; 14.2 per cent more than in November 2009.

Delivery days

There were 22 delivery days in November this year, and in November 2009 there were 21.
