Increased sales of petroleum products

In May, total sales of petroleum products ended at 790 million litres, an increase by 8.1 per cent or 59 million litres compared to May last year.

In May total sales of auto diesel ended at 261 million litres, a 7.9 per cent increase or 19 million more than in May 2009. For the same period, sales of motor gasoline decreased by 4.8 per cent or 7.2 million litres, and total sales ended at 143 million litres. For the two products together, the increase in sales equals 3 per cent or 12 million litres. Sales of auto diesel and motor gasoline amount to 51 per cent of the total sales of petroleum products.

Sales of jet fuel ended at 85 million litres in May, 20 million litres or 31 per cent more than the same period last year. Sales of marine gas oil and diesel stand for 19 per cent of total sales of petroleum products. In May sales ended at 150 million litres, an increase by 13 per cent.

There were 18 delivery days in May, the same as in May 2009.
